No.55377/G3/99/H&FWD. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 2nd June, 2000
S.R.O.No.435/2000.- In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-rule (3) of rule 8 of the Hio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998, notified by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India under the provisions of the Environment Protection Act, 1986, and published as S.O.630(E), dated the 20th July, 1998 in Part II Section 3 (ii) of the Gazette of India Extraordinary, the Government of Kerala in consultation with the Kerala State Pollution Control Board hereby prescribe the fee as mentioned in the schedule below, for the purpose of grant of authorisation as per the provisions of the said Rules, namely:-

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This does note form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport)
As per the Rule 8 (3) of the Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling), Rules, 1998 notified by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, the State Government have to prescribe/fee for the issuance of authorisation for generation, collection, storage, transportation, treatment, disposal and/or handling of bio-medical wastes. The Kerala State Pollution Control Board is the prescribed Authority and the Competent Authority for the issuance of authorisation under the provisions of the said Rules. The application for authorisation has to be accompanied with fee prescribed by the Government for this purpose. The State Pollution Control Board, has proposed the fee structure and the Government have accepted the proposal.
This notification is intended to achieve the above objective.
